Produced by Michelle and Barack Obama, Bodkin is a surprising departure from their excellent but on the whole worthy Netflix documentaries. A comic drama set in rural Ireland and featuring knowing, winking locals and credulous urban outsiders, Bodkin (and this is by no means a criticism) belongs in the stable of those engaging-at-the-time but ultimately forgettable series that are done so well by British terrestrial channels for Sunday evenings.
