In the steps of Saint Francis of Assisi
The Wolf of Gubbio, Luc-Olivier Merson, 1877. This nineteenth-century work tells the story of “Brother Wolf”, a ferocious animal much feared by the people of Gubbio, whom it was terrorising. Francis tamed it by making the sign of the cross over it.
